Angela and Carmelo Romantic Wedding

Angela and Carmelo’s super romantic wedding at Bramleigh Estate swept us off our feet with its classical elegance.

The gorgeous couple married in September 2023 in a beautiful outdoor wedding ceremony and reception at Bramleigh Estate.

Read on for more of their experience being married at our award-winning wedding venue in Warrandyte, Melbourne.

When and where did you meet?

We first met through a mutual friend who asked Angela if it was ok for Carmelo to add her on Facebook. Angela agreed and Carmelo reached out through a private message. It wasn’t long before a first date was being planned – dinner on Lygon Street.

How long were you together before one of you popped the question?

Carmelo proposed six years into our relationship.

Tell us about the proposal! Did your partner suspect anything?

The week after Carmelo turned 30, he planned a weekend away in Redhill. Angela didn’t suspect anything as we went away quite often.

While we were out for lunch, Carmelo had his family set up the hotel room with a rose arbour, rose petals, candles and an LED sign asking ‘Will you marry me?’.

Carmelo stalled Angela by asking her to get the bags out of the back of the car which gave him time to run to the room and be kneeling under the arbour when she walked in.

Were you glad you decided to see each other for the first time at the ceremony?

We were. We enjoyed watching other couples do a ‘first look’ before the ceremony but knew this wasn’t for us, we wanted to be more traditional and see each other for the first time at the end of the aisle. It was amazing to experience all those emotions as we were about to be married.

How did you feel seeing each other for the first time down the aisle?

Angela: I felt so overwhelmed with happiness that our special day was finally here and we were getting married. I thought he looked so handsome in his suit.

Carmelo: I was in awe of how beautiful she looked and was excited to make her my wife.

Who were your favourite suppliers on the day and why?

Bramleigh Estate went above and beyond for us. Not only in the planning process but also on the day. Nothing was ever too much for them, they made everything so easy and stress-free.

They also thought of things we hadn’t even planned for. For example, we had organised a bus to transport our guests. After our wedding, we found out a staff member had been out and provided the driver with a meal. We had completely overlooked this detail and appreciated their kindness and thoughtfulness so much!

James Liotta our amazing MC. He was so entertaining, kept the night running smoothly and brought so much humour and fun, which our guests enjoyed.

Lillypad Flowers styled our special day so beautifully and were amazing to work with.

Rutherford Entertainment supplied our DJ and sax player. Everyone was up on the dancefloor all night. They brought such fun vibes to our wedding and were amazing to work with leading up to the day.

We could literally thank every single one of our suppliers – everyone did such an incredible job!

Looking back on your wedding day, what was the best part?

Seeing each other at the ceremony and also having so much fun celebrating with all our loved ones. We often say it was the best day of our lives and how much we wish we could do it all over again!

What tip would you give to anyone planning a wedding? And also, a tip for the actual day?

Try not to stress about the little things. At the end of the day, the most important thing is that you are both there and get married. Everything else will fall into place and if it doesn’t go perfectly, no one else will notice.

On the day, try to take a few minutes to step away together and be alone. It goes so quickly, and you’re surrounded by so many people at all times. We enjoyed going outside together for five minutes, taking a breath and realising we were now married.

Did you go on a honeymoon after the wedding? If so, where, and were you glad you went away after all the wedding planning?

We did, we went to Bali. We didn’t do much else other than eat, drink and relax. It was perfect and much needed after the wedding planning process and such a big day. It gave us time to unwind and enjoy each other’s company.

How has married life been for you since the big day? What’s next for the future?

Married life has been great so far. We have enjoyed continuing to settle into our house and married life. We are also expecting a baby in October and are so excited to start the next part of our journey together!
