Ashleigh & Jordan

Ashley & Jordan held their gorgeous wedding ceremony and reception at Bramleigh Estate in January 2026.

Find out more about their celebration at our award-winning Melbourne wedding reception venue.

When and where did you both first meet?

We met in 2016, at our friends’, Kyle & Tyson’s (twins), 18th birthday party. I was contemplating not going to the 18th because I didn’t know anyone aside from my best friend Britt, who convinced me to go and thank goodness I did, as that’s where I first met Jordy. Even though we hadn’t even spoken yet, we’d already done the pre-party Facebook invite list stalk and had the same idea… we were both on the lookout for each other.

It didn’t take long for Jordy and I to be introduced at the party, and we quickly started talking and spent the night getting to know each other. We both vividly remember me saying to Jordy, ‘I’m not leaving until I kiss you’. And I did, in fact, not leave until I got my kiss haha!

How long were you together before you got engaged?

We met when I was just 16 and Jordy was 17 (babies)… We were together for 7 years before Jordy FINALLY proposed!!

Tell us about the proposal! Did you partner suspect anything?

In January 2024, Jordy, Zac (Jordy’s twin brother), and I went away to Airlie Beach. Before we left, I had a few friends saying they thought I’d come home with a ring, so they definitely got my hopes up, but any suspicion didn’t last long.

There were so many moments where I thought this could be it, sunset cruises, Whitehaven Beach, incredible lookouts, but Jordy tells me now that he was waiting for the right moment.

And then at the end of the holiday, it finally happened.

We were in Hamilton Island on the most perfect sunny day, driving the golf buggy around the island, we had lunch, swam at the beach and just enjoyed being away together. While we were at the beach, Jordy asked me to go for a walk with him. I was my usual chatty self, but Jordy could barely speak, he was so nervous. We walked to the end of the beach where there was a quiet grassy area overlooking the water, and Jordy got down on one knee and asked me to marry him.

But what I didn’t know was the proposal was not exactly pulled off seamlessly. In typical Jordy style, the ring had been forgotten at the apartment, there was a quick detour back, Zac became the secret accomplice, and the ring ended up tucked into Jordy’s jocks because the box wouldn’t fit anywhere else.

But honestly, it made it even more him, and it led to the most perfect moment on the beach. Nothing beats that feeling, having your best friend ask you to marry them.

What did you love about having your ceremony onsite? Did you wait to first see one another down the aisle or did you consider a first look?

We absolutely loved having our ceremony onsite. What initially drew us to Bramleigh was the deck. The deck was the most perfect setting and the setup was everything we dreamed of. White roses surrounding us with the bridal party’s matching rose bouquets was perfect. It felt intimate, romantic and so ‘us’.

We didn’t even bat an eyelid or consider a first look, we always knew we wanted to wait for that moment down the aisle where Jordy would see me for the very first time. That moment was something we’d both looked forward to for so long.

We also loved that all of our favourite people were right there to witness Jordy and I get married. Being able to share our vows in front of everyone we love most was so special, and it felt so meaningful to share our love with the people who have supported us throughout our whole journey.

Having the ceremony onsite meant it was easy, simple and seamless going straight from the ceremony into the reception. We were able to get pictures, have a drink, talk with loved ones and have an effortless transition from the ceremony to the reception.

Who were your favourite suppliers on the day and why?

Although our suppliers were all a dream to work with, our favourite suppliers have to be the team at Single Soul and Jasmine from Australian Weddings Official. Both teams supported us in capturing all the content from the day, and what truly was the most incredible night of our lives. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to sit back now and relive all the special moments.

From getting ready in the morning, to the first looks with our family and bridal party, and all the little moments before, during and after the wedding, they captured everything so perfectly.

We chose Single Soul through Bramleigh’s recommended supplier list and didn’t actually have a family member who had used them before, so we were a little unsure at first… but wow. Will and Don were remarkable. They hyped Jordy and I up at all the right times and made the whole experience feel seamless, effortless and genuinely fun. We were absolutely blown away!

And Jasmine from Australian Weddings Official… we truly LOVED spending the day with her and are so glad she was a part of our special day. She wasn’t just a content creator, she was far more then that, like I had known her for years, a best friend who was there for me the entire day. She helped me with my dress, touched up my lippie, made sure we had water during photos, fixed my train, and was constantly making sure everything ran smoothly. She has the most beautiful calming aura and made the day feel even more special. Not to mention that her work is absolutely phenomenal and she exceeded every expectation we had.

Jasmine and the Single Soul team also worked so beautifully together, and we are genuinely over the moon with everything they produced. We couldn’t be happier with the content from the day. We’ll never be able to repay them for what they captured, but we are beyond grateful and wouldn’t want anyone else there to capture our day!

Looking back on your wedding day what was the best part?

We were told so many times to soak up every moment of the day and looking back now there are two key moments that Jordy and I both class as the absolute BEST.

The first was the exact moment Jordy saw me coming down the aisle for the very first time. It was such a surreal moment, one we had thought about and longed for such a long time and something we’ll remember forever.

The second was right before our entrance into the reception. We were standing there together, about to walk in as husband and wife, and we could hear everyone cheering, energetic and loud. The vibe was incredible! Fun and full of love. We both stood there and said to one another ‘wow this is for us, everyone is here for us’, we really soaked that moment in and that was easily one of the best moments of the entire night.

What tip would you give to anyone planning a wedding? And also, a tip for the actual day?

My tip for anyone planning a wedding would be to prioritise what matters most to you as a couple and don’t get caught up trying to please everyone else. If it feels right for you, it’s the right choice. I also didn’t have a wedding planner, but Bramleigh have the most amazing team and supported me the whole way, which made such a difference. And honestly, when people offer to help, take them up on it. Utilise your bridal party and the people around you where you can, because anything you can take off your plate is one less thing to worry about.

My tip for the actual day is to soak it all in. Take a quiet moment with your partner to look around and really take in who is there, because it goes so fast. You can’t control the weather and you can’t control every little detail, but you can control being present and enjoying it. At the end of the day, everyone is there for you and it’s all about the love you and your partner share.

How has married life been for you since the big day? Did we honeymoon anywhere exciting or is that coming up/on the cards?

Married life has honestly been so fun! The love bubble is definitely real, and it has been so nice just soaking up this newlywed stage together. Our favourite moments since the wedding have been the quiet nights at home, getting takeaway, watching movies on the couch, and reliving the wedding through all the photos, videos and constant debriefs with our friends and family. It’s been so special rewatching everything and talking about all the little moments from the day and night.

Our honeymoon is still to come and we are so excited. In June this year we’re heading to Europe, it has always been a dream of ours, but we can’t believe it’s actually happening! We’ll be away for four and a half weeks visiting Paris, Italy, Greece, Croatia, Malta and the Amalfi Coast. We can’t wait to make even more memories together as Mr and Mrs Stewart!!
